In 1997, she created a series about Free parties and organizes many exhibitions in alternative space in Paris.
In 1999 she starts the Atelier Reflexe, promoting and creating place that treats the photographic research as artistic expression.
In 2001 she organizes a slide show projection throughout the city during the international photographic festival of Arles.
She then became the assistant of Véronique Bourgoin artist photographer and founder of Atelier Reflexe.
In 2004 she participates at the project EX-IN about public and private space, a book and an exhibition at the gallery Maeght of Barcelona presented this project. The same year a retrospective of her photography about free party are presented at the Heart Gallery in Paris.
She’s started the project No Name, No City. Her inspiration comes from their travels in Ukraine, Russia and China.
A first exhibition of the project No Name No City was showed in the Museum Quarter of Vienna during the month of Photography in November 2004.
She collaborated in 2007 with the European project EU Women initiated by Véronique Bourgoin. Between 2008 and 2009 an exhibition, a cd-rom and a book of this project were presented in United States, Poland, France, Austria and Spain.
In 2008, she starts the project My brother Guillaume and Sonia about his brother and the relation he had with his girlfriend, both were alcoholics. This project is publish by Journal edition, in 2013.
In 2010 she settled in Sweden and started a photography school Atelier Smedsby with the photographer JH Engström.
They have published three books together: Foreign Affair (2011) and 7 days, Athens, November 2011 (2012), Karaoke Sunne (2014) published by Super Labo edition.
In 2012 she started a new project, Natten, about her relationship with Swedish nature. This project was exhibited in Landskrona Foto Festival (Sweden) in 2014. The series was also shortlisted for The Source-Cord Prize in 2014, The Leica Oskar Barnack Award and The Dummy Award Kassel in 2015.
The book Natten was published by Max Ström in spring 2017. It was selected as one of the best photography books of 2017 by the renowned Swedish daily SVD.
Since 2018 she has been working on two projects combining family archives and photographs taken in Oran in Algeria and Normandy in France, where her family comes from. Both projects are linked to the personal family archives of Margot Wallard. They will be published and exhibited in 2023-2024.
Wallard is represented by Galerie VU in Paris and Dorothée Nilsson Gallery in Berlin.
